Meeting weekly I run a 'Sit & Knit' project where elderly people within my local community  who are suffering from issues surrounding isolation and loneliness are invited to come together to have a knit and a natter while we share tea, laughter and worries.

We meet every Tuesday 10-11.30 at The Purple Spoon cafe in the YMCA Highbridge

If you can't make the face to face session we have a live interactive chat group knitting session, over on Facebook (sign up here) Thursday evenings 7-8pm and everyone is welcome.

For our current project  we're making mini hats to raise money for Age UK Somerset as part of THE INNOCENT BIG KNIT  fundraiser, so if you can make a rectangle you're already winning

Buy one box or sign up so that each month you  receive a pattern plus  all the tools you need to work with during the Thursday night live group chats.

Each pattern provides the opportunity for you to build a selection of gifts for friends and family this Christmas and to make life easier you will also receive wrapping paper and a matching gift tag exclusive to Hurd & Co.

As a  much loved member you gain exclusive access to video tutorials that will  hold your hand at every stage and support you to learn how to knit at your own pace.

It's perfect for absolute beginners.

Best of all £2 from the sale of each box goes directly to Age UK Somerset to ensure they can continue to provide fantastic local service and support.

Would you like to support a wonderful local charity who work very hard to provide services to local residents?

Age UK Somerset rely on donations from the public, gifts in wills, and some charitable grants to enable them to work within the local community.  Armed with an incredible 200+ volunteers to help older people by delivering various services and activities  in Somerset

You will soon be able to donate an amount of your choice directly from this site.
